Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved. It is prescribed only if a licensed provider decides it is appropriate for you.
Do not use it if you or anyone in your family has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or if you have had pancreatitis.
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation and stomach pain. Serious risks may include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar when used with other diabetes medicines, kidney problems and allergic reactions.
Tell your provider about all the medications you take. Get emergency care right away if you have severe stomach pain or signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips or throat, or trouble breathing.
